General Info: The Maui Sunset is located on over 5 acres of oceanfront at Kihei which is considered one of the best locations on the Valley Isle. Kihei is noted for its year round sunshine, balmy trade winds, and soothing evening air. It is one of the driest and sunniest areas on the entire island, averaging only 10 inches a year! World famous swimming and snorkeling beaches are minutes away at one of the many sandy safe beaches at Kihei and nearby Wailea. Just a short distance (6 miles) from five championship 18 hole resort golf courses at Wailea and Makena. The two buildings frame and protect a large recreational area that is carefully attended and landscaped.   Beautiful view! Condo was clean and fit 4 of us and infant great. Very well stocked for dishes in the kitchen. Also had plenty of stuff for the beach. Our only complaint would be lack of spices. All that was offered was salt & pepper. People were very friendly in the complex.

  Maui Sunset is a perfect vacation rental, 2 bd, 2 Bath was very convenient. Right on the water in Kehei. The unit was clean, with beach chairs, boogie boards, cooler, etc.
  I'd like to report to maintenance that the lanai sliding glass door lock was inoperative. We didn't feel insecure there, but knowing you could lock up the apartment when gone would be more comforting.
  There was a wifi router in the unit, but no login/password instructions. That would have been nice.
  We found the grounds impeccably maintained, but were surprised that they let dog owners from the adjacent local park defecate on the manicured lawn. We saw this occur at least 5 times where the owners did not pick up after themselves. I would post signage on the parking area boundary of the park. Shame on them!
  I would certainly recommend Maui Sunset and would stay there again. Much more "local feel" then the overpriced Kaanapali shore. Aloha

  We traveled from Massachusetts. When we arrived our unit was in excellent condition and looked exactly as the pictures did. The view from the 5th floor balcony was amazing. The beds were comfortable, nice hot showers, excellent kitchen-well supplied!

  We had a great time at Maui Sunset.
  Our condo was excellent for views and location etc. However we were in need of some basic cleaning supplies like windex to clean the windows and glass table. More bath towels are needed as well as dish clothes. This unit has high top tables and stools on the patio so you can enjoy the view. 90% of the units at Maui Sunset have low tables and chairs and you stare out thru the railings and top rail deters from nice views. Overall a great stay at out unit.

  Maui Sunset was fantastic. The property was immaculate and the staff from the front dest, hospitality and housekeeping were wonderful. Every night we could stroll down to the waterfront beach and enjoy the sunset. We were in walking or short driving distance from stores and restaurants and even a cute Farmers Market. When we return to Maui, this will be our launching pad.

  The Property could use some renovations. Exterior & interior were dated.
  This unit was dirty. There was old food on the “clean” dishes, silverware & utensils. Dusty mirrors, glass and furniture. Let’s just say this unit could use a good deep cleaning. Speaking to other guests they also had the same experience with their units. Also having only one small hot tub didn’t seem adequate for the number of guests/units. It was always too crowded. Landscaping and location were great.

  We were very satisfied with the accommodations at Maui Sunset. The front desk was pleasant at check-in and any questions were answered promptly. The unit was well supplied. We loved the spacious sun deck overlooking the pool, ocean front and a view of the volcano. The large manicured lawn frontage was also lovely. There were five of us in our unit and it worked out fine, appreciated the bbq area and the combo washer unit. The central area in Kihei was also great. Unit was modern, washrooms a bit small and dated but met our needs.

  We had a few issues with the Tv's not working properly and no teapot. No umbrellas to take to the beach. Second unit did not have the ice maker working and phones not working properly.

  First of all the condo was gorgeously decorated, very clean and the kitchen was stocked with quality knives, dishes, pots and pans. Everything we needed and more was there. Great view from the balcony of the pool, greens, park and ocean. Sunsets were beautiful. Location was convienient to Kihei shopping and great beaches. We enjoyed our stay immensly and will look for this condo when we come back to Maui.

    Aloha Shannon, I'm glad you enjoyed the fully renovated condo, although from your review title you don't sound impressed. The condo had just gone through a top to bottom remodel including both bathrooms, flooring, ceiling, and kitchen. All new appliances as well. You had requested to be as close to the ocean as possible, so we were able to upgrade you to a 2 bedroom suite. From the top floor you have the best view of the pool and out to the ocean. The V shape setup of the complex affords the best views possible from any condo. For a 2 week stay you did receive an extra maid service, I don't recall any communication from you that you were unhappy with the location or cleanliness. The Maui Sunset still remains one of the best values on Maui with the ocean front beach and central location. Mahalo, Steve (ARM, Inc.)
